Telephotometry

The technique of measuring the luminance or brightness of distant objects or extended sources using a telephotometer. This method is applied in atmospheric science to study atmospheric visibility, light scattering by aerosols, and the optical properties of clouds. It provides quantitative data on how the atmosphere affects light propagation over long distances.
