Photometry

The science of measuring light, specifically the perceived brightness of light in terms of its effect on the human eye. It quantifies light energy weighted by the spectral sensitivity of human vision. In atmospheric science, photometry can be applied to assess visibility, sky luminance, or the optical properties of aerosols and clouds.
