Radiometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008344
An instrument designed to measure the intensity of electromagnetic radiation, typically across a specific range of wavelengths. In meteorology, radiometers are used to quantify incoming solar radiation, outgoing terrestrial radiation, or atmospheric emissions. Satellite-borne radiometers provide global observations of cloud cover, sea surface temperature, and atmospheric moisture.
