Radiomaximograph
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008343
An instrument that measures and records the maximum field strength of atmospherics (sferics) over a given time interval. It was used to monitor thunderstorm activity by detecting the peak intensity of electromagnetic radiation produced by lightning discharges. The resulting graph provided an indication of the proximity and intensity of storms, aiding in early forms of remote storm tracking.
