Tulipan radiometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009830
A distillation-type instrument devised by Ångström for continuously recording effective radiation, the net longwave heat a surface loses to the sky. It complemented the Ångström pyrgeometer, which was used for momentary readings of the same quantity. Hydrologists in the 1940s still used it for long-duration records of outgoing longwave radiation.
