Electrical substitution radiometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005314
A precision instrument used to measure radiant power by comparing the heating effect of incident radiation with the heating effect of a precisely measured electrical power. It operates by maintaining a sensor at a constant temperature, first by absorbing radiation and then by electrical heating. This method provides highly accurate measurements of solar irradiance, often used for calibrating other radiometers.
