Electrical storm

A meteorological event defined by the production of lightning and its associated acoustic effect, thunder. These storms originate from cumulonimbus clouds, where strong updrafts and downdrafts cause charge separation among water droplets and ice particles. An event is classified as a thunderstorm if at least one lightning discharge is observed or thunder is heard.
