Brontides

Low-frequency rumbling sounds, often described as distant thunder or cannon fire, that are heard without any visible lightning or other obvious meteorological cause. These unexplained noises are thought to originate from seismic activity, distant storms, or other geophysical phenomena. They are sometimes referred to as 'sky quakes'.
