Radiant flux density

The radiant flux incident upon, emitted from, or passing through a surface per unit area. It describes the power of radiation distributed over a surface. This quantity is also known as irradiance or radiant exitance, depending on the direction of the flux, and is measured in watts per square meter (W m⁻²).
