Irradiance
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006658
The radiant flux incident on a surface per unit area, representing the power of electromagnetic radiation received by a surface. It is a measure of how much radiative energy is falling on a given area per unit time. Solar irradiance, for example, is the amount of solar radiation received at the Earth's surface or at the top of the atmosphere, typically measured in watts per square meter.
