Absorptance

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003199

The ratio of the radiant flux absorbed by a body to the radiant flux incident upon it. This dimensionless quantity indicates the efficiency with which a surface or material absorbs electromagnetic radiation. For a perfect black body, the absorptance is 1, meaning all incident radiation is absorbed.
