Flux transmittance

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005661

The fraction of incident radiative flux that passes through a medium without being absorbed or scattered. It is a dimensionless quantity, ranging from 0 to 1, indicating the transparency of a material to a specific type of radiation. In atmospheric science, it describes how much solar or terrestrial radiation penetrates through layers of the atmosphere.
