Coefficient of transparency

A measure of the fraction of incident radiation that passes through a medium without being absorbed or scattered. In atmospheric optics, it quantifies how clear the atmosphere is to solar or terrestrial radiation. A value of 1 indicates perfect transparency, while 0 indicates complete opacity.
