Coefficient of viscosity

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004482

A measure of a fluid's resistance to shear flow, representing its internal friction. In meteorology, it describes the resistance of air to deformation, influencing processes like turbulent mixing and the dissipation of kinetic energy. Air's dynamic viscosity is approximately 1.8 x 10^-5 Pascal-seconds at standard atmospheric conditions.
