Flux-corrected transport
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005662
A class of numerical schemes designed to solve conservation laws, particularly for advection-dominated flows, while preventing the formation of spurious oscillations and maintaining sharp gradients. These methods achieve high accuracy by blending low-order and high-order schemes, effectively limiting numerical diffusion and dispersion. They are widely used in atmospheric and oceanic modeling to simulate tracer transport.
