Photoelectric transmittance meter

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007911

An instrument that measures the fraction of incident light that passes through a medium, such as the atmosphere, using a photoelectric sensor. It quantifies the transparency or clarity of the air by detecting changes in light intensity after it has traversed a specific path. These meters are often employed to assess visibility, haze, or the concentration of aerosols in the atmosphere.
