Photoelectric photometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007910
An instrument that measures the intensity of light using a photoelectric cell or photomultiplier tube to convert light into an electrical signal. The magnitude of the electrical current or voltage is proportional to the incident light intensity. These photometers are used in atmospheric optics to measure sky brightness, aerosol optical depth, and other radiative properties.
