Absorptance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000073
The fraction of incident radiant power that is absorbed by a sample. It is a dimensionless quantity, ranging from 0 to 1, representing the efficiency with which a material absorbs electromagnetic radiation. Absorptance is related to transmittance and reflectance by the equation A + T + R = 1, where A is absorptance, T is transmittance, and R is reflectance.
