Internal absorptance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005961

The fraction of the radiation incident on an absorbing sample that is absorbed within the sample itself, excluding losses due to reflection or scattering at the sample's surfaces. It quantifies the intrinsic absorption properties of a material. This value is related to the absorbance and the path length of the radiation through the sample.
