Absorbance assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000060

A laboratory method that quantifies the amount of light absorbed by a sample at a specific wavelength. This technique is based on Beer-Lambert Law, where absorbance is directly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing substance and the path length of the light. It is widely used in biochemistry and molecular biology for measuring concentrations of DNA, proteins, and other molecules.
