Decadic absorbance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002890
A measure of the attenuation of light as it passes through a sample, defined as the common logarithm (base 10) of the ratio of the incident radiant power to the transmitted radiant power. It is a dimensionless quantity and is directly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing species and the path length of the light. This is also known as absorbance.
