Matched cells
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007018
A pair or set of cuvettes or sample cells that exhibit identical optical properties, particularly absorbance, when filled with the same solvent. These cells are used in spectrophotometry to minimize errors arising from differences in path length or material composition between the sample and reference cells. They are typically verified by measuring their absorbance with a blank solution.
