Cell error

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001777

An inaccuracy in spectrophotometric measurements caused by imperfections or variations in the absorption cell (cuvette) used to hold the sample. This can include differences in path length, scratches, or contamination on the cell walls. To minimize cell error, matched cells are often used, or a single cell is employed for both blank and sample measurements.
