Mastocytosis

A group of disorders characterized by the abnormal accumulation of mast cells in one or more organ systems of the body. This condition can manifest as cutaneous mastocytosis, affecting only the skin, or systemic mastocytosis, involving internal organs such as the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract, or liver. The symptoms arise from the release of mediators by the increased number of mast cells.
