Mastocytoma

A type of tumor consisting of a proliferation of mast cells. These growths can be benign or malignant and are found in the skin or internal organs of humans and other animals, particularly dogs and cats. The clinical signs of a mastocytoma are related to the excessive release of histamine and other chemical mediators from the tumor cells.
