Mast cell activation disorder
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007014
A group of conditions characterized by the inappropriate activation and release of mediators from mast cells, leading to a variety of symptoms affecting multiple organ systems. This disorder can manifest as recurrent episodes of anaphylaxis, flushing, urticaria, and gastrointestinal issues. It is distinct from mastocytosis, which involves an abnormal proliferation of mast cells.
