Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000568

A rapid, severe, and potentially fatal systemic hypersensitivity reaction mediated by immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. It occurs upon re-exposure to an allergen, leading to widespread mast cell and basophil degranulation and the release of potent inflammatory mediators. Symptoms can include hives, angioedema, bronchospasm, and hypotension.
