Allergy

A hypersensitive immune response to a substance that is generally harmless to most people. This reaction occurs when the immune system mistakenly identifies an allergen as a threat, leading to the production of specific antibodies, primarily IgE. Symptoms can manifest in the skin, respiratory tract, or gastrointestinal system, and can range from mild discomfort to life-threatening anaphylaxis.
