Hypersensitization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005526
An enhanced immune response to an antigen that occurs after prior exposure to the same antigen, leading to an exaggerated or inappropriate reaction upon subsequent exposure. This phenomenon can manifest as allergic reactions, which range from mild skin rashes to severe, life-threatening anaphylaxis. The underlying mechanisms involve the production of specific antibodies or the activation of T-cells.
