Anaplasia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000569
A condition in which cells lose their specialized characteristics and revert to a more primitive, undifferentiated form. This cellular dedifferentiation is a hallmark of malignancy, where cells exhibit pleomorphism, increased nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, and abnormal mitotic figures. Anaplastic cells often show uncontrolled proliferation and a reduced ability to perform their normal functions.
