A broad group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells, which can invade adjacent tissues and metastasize to distant organs. This cellular dysregulation arises from genetic mutations that disrupt normal cell cycle control and apoptosis. Cancer is a leading cause of mortality worldwide.
