Oncogenesis

The complex process by which normal cells are transformed into cancer cells, involving a series of genetic and epigenetic changes. This multi-step process leads to uncontrolled cell growth, proliferation, and the potential for metastasis. It is driven by mutations in oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.
