Tumor progression
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012351
The multi-step process by which a normal cell acquires genetic and epigenetic alterations, leading to uncontrolled proliferation and the development of a malignant tumor. This involves a series of changes, including increased growth rate, invasiveness, and metastatic potential. It is a dynamic process influenced by both intrinsic cellular factors and the tumor microenvironment.
