Carcinogen

An agent, substance, or mixture of substances that can induce or promote the development of cancer in living tissues. These agents can be chemical, physical, or biological in nature. Exposure to carcinogens can lead to genetic mutations or other cellular damage that disrupts normal cell growth and division, resulting in tumor formation.
