Mast cell stabilizer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007015

A class of pharmacological agents that inhibit the degranulation of mast cells, thereby preventing the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine and leukotrienes. These drugs are used to manage allergic conditions, particularly those affecting the respiratory tract and eyes. Cromolyn sodium is a well-known example of a mast cell stabilizer.
