Ultraviolet stabilizer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012405
A chemical additive incorporated into materials, particularly polymers, to protect them from degradation caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. These compounds function by absorbing UV light, quenching excited states, or scavenging free radicals generated by photochemical reactions. Common types include hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and UV absorbers like benzophenones.
