Photochemical reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008822
A chemical reaction that is initiated by the absorption of light by one or more reactants. The absorbed light energy promotes molecules to an excited electronic state, which then undergoes chemical transformation. These reactions often exhibit different reaction pathways and products compared to thermal reactions.
