Photoinduced electron transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008876
The transfer of an electron between two molecules or within a single molecule, initiated by the absorption of light by one of the species. This process involves the formation of an excited state, which then acts as either an electron donor or an electron acceptor. It is a fundamental step in many photochemical reactions and biological processes like photosynthesis.
