Electron transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013064
A fundamental chemical process involving the movement of an electron from one chemical entity to another. This can occur either intermolecularly, between two separate molecules, or intramolecularly, within a single molecule. Electron transfer reactions are central to many biological processes, such as photosynthesis and respiration, and to electrochemical systems.
