Charge shift
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001906
A process involving the movement of an electron from one molecular entity to another, or within different parts of the same molecular entity, resulting in a redistribution of charge. This phenomenon is often observed in photoexcited states where electron transfer occurs. The driving force for charge shift is influenced by the redox potentials of the donor and acceptor species.
