Charge-exchange reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001911
A chemical reaction involving the transfer of one or more electrons between two colliding species, resulting in a change in their charge states. This process can occur between ions and neutral molecules, or between two ions. In mass spectrometry, it is a common mechanism for ionization or fragmentation of analytes.
