Interparticle electron transfer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005978

The movement of electrons between distinct particles, such as semiconductor nanocrystals or colloidal particles, that are in close proximity but not directly bonded. This process can occur via tunneling or hopping mechanisms. It is a fundamental process in photocatalysis, solar energy conversion, and charge transport in composite materials.
