Hole transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005336
The movement of a positive charge (a 'hole') from one molecular entity to another, often occurring in conjugated systems or semiconductors. This process involves the transfer of an electron from a filled orbital of one species to an electron-deficient orbital of another. It is a fundamental process in many photochemical and electrochemical reactions.
