Hole-transporting material
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005337
A substance, often a polymer or organic small molecule, in which the dominant charge carriers are holes (electron vacancies). When an electric field is applied, holes move through the material by hopping between adjacent molecules or segments of a polymer chain. These materials are integral components in the hole-transport layer of devices like organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic photovoltaic cells.
