Charge carrier injection

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001894

The process of introducing mobile charge carriers, such as electrons or holes, from an external electrode into a polymeric material. This is a fundamental step in the operation of many organic electronic devices, including organic light-emitting diodes and organic solar cells. The efficiency of injection depends on the energy level alignment between the electrode and the polymer.
