Charge carrier concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012967
The number of mobile charge carriers, such as electrons or holes, per unit volume within a material. This quantity dictates the material's electrical conductivity and is a fundamental property in semiconductors and conductive polymers. It is typically expressed in units of inverse cubic centimeters (cm⁻³).
