Charge carrier recombination

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001896

The process in which oppositely charged carriers, such as an electron and a hole, meet and annihilate each other within a polymeric material. This event results in the loss of mobile charge carriers and can release energy, sometimes as light. Recombination reduces the efficiency of charge transport and collection in devices.
