Charge recombination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001903
The process in which separated positive and negative charges, formed after an initial charge separation event, return to their original, uncharged state. This typically involves an electron returning to a positively charged species or a hole returning to a negatively charged species. It is a deactivation pathway that competes with productive chemical reactions or energy transfer processes in photochemistry.
