Electroinjection

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003687

The process of introducing charge carriers, such as electrons or holes, into a material from an external electrode by applying an electric field. This method is used to populate the electronic states of a semiconductor or insulator, initiating electrical conduction or light emission. The efficiency of electroinjection depends on the work function difference between the electrode and the material.
