Electric potential difference
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003638
The work done per unit of electric charge when the charge is moved between two points in an electric field. This quantity, also known as voltage, represents the difference in electric potential energy between the two points. The SI unit for electric potential difference is the volt (V), which is equivalent to one joule per coulomb.
